How to use this converter

- Press Merge PDFs and download the combined file.
Why merge PDF files
Applications, invoices and reports often come as separate PDFs but must be sent as one file. Merging joins them in the order you choose without changing the pages.
Typical situations
- Combining an application form with its supporting documents
- Joining scanned pages that were saved as separate files
- Putting a cover page and a report into one file
What to watch for
Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and pictures keep their quality. Some features that live outside the pages, such as bookmarks, form fields or signatures, may not survive a merge. PDFs protected with a password cannot be opened. One merged file can have at most 1500 pages in total, and each source file at most 500.
Tips for better results
- Name the files so they sort in the right order, then check the list before merging.
- If the result is too large to email, run it through the PDF compression tool afterwards.
- To combine photos, use JPG to PDF, which accepts pictures and creates a PDF directly.

Frequently asked questions
Does merging PDF files reduce their quality?
No. The pages are copied into the new file without being redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable and images keep their original quality.
Can I merge PDF files online for free without signing up?
Yes. Merging runs online in your browser, it is free, and there is no account, signup or watermark.
Is there a limit on how many PDF files I can merge?
You can add up to 200 files per batch. The merged document can hold at most 1500 pages, and each source PDF at most 500 pages.
Can I merge PDF files on my phone?
Yes. Open this page in the browser on the phone, choose the files and merge them. Large files depend on the memory of the phone.
Are my PDF files uploaded to merge them?
No. The pages are combined in your browser and the result is offered as a download from your own device.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device, so the files are not sent to Convert In Place or anyone else. See how it works for a way to check this yourself.
Is there a limit on file size or number of files?
You can use it as often as you like. One batch holds up to 200 files, and each file can be up to 200 MB. Large files and long batches depend on the memory of your device, and phones handle less than computers.
