Why convert JPG to PDF
Applications, forms and email often ask for a PDF rather than loose photos. Combining pictures of documents into one PDF also keeps pages together in the right order.
Typical situations
- Combining photos of a document into one file for an application or claim
- Sending several pictures as a single attachment
- Turning receipts or notes photographed on a phone into one PDF
What to watch for
Each image becomes one page. Pick US Letter or A4 to fit the image onto a standard page, or choose the image size for a page that matches the picture exactly. Photos are re-encoded when placed in the PDF, and the File size option lets you trade quality for a smaller file. The result is images in a PDF, not searchable text.
Tips for better results
- Photograph documents in good light and straight on, so each page is readable in the PDF.
- Choose US Letter or A4 for a standard printable page, or same as image to avoid any margins.
- Use the Smaller file option when an upload form has a size limit.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put several JPG photos into one PDF?
Yes. Add all the photos, use the arrows to set the order, and create the PDF. Each photo becomes its own page.
How do I convert JPG to PDF on iPhone, Windows or Mac?
You can use the built in methods listed above, or add your pictures to the converter here. It works on all three and the PDF is created on your device.
How do I combine several JPG images into one PDF?
Add all the pictures, arrange them with Up and Down and choose Create PDF. Each picture becomes a page.
How do I convert JPG to PDF under 500 KB?
Open the options and choose Under 500 KB as the maximum PDF size. The tool shares the budget between the pages and lowers the image quality as needed to stay under it.
Is it safe to convert JPG to PDF online?
Many online converters upload your photos to a server first. This one builds the PDF in your browser, so the photos stay on your device. In the Network tab of your browser developer tools you can see that no file is sent; the only request after a conversion is a small anonymous count (tool name and language).
Is JPG to PDF free?
Yes, with no account, watermark or page limit beyond what your device can handle.
How can I make the PDF smaller?
Open the options and choose Smaller file. That lowers image quality and size before the pictures are placed in the PDF, which helps with email size limits and upload forms.
Can I mix JPG, PNG and other pictures in one PDF?
Yes. This tool also accepts PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF and BMP images, and each one becomes a page in the order you set.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device, so the files are not sent to Convert In Place or anyone else. See how it works for a way to check this yourself.
Is there a limit on file size or number of files?
You can use it as often as you like. One batch holds up to 200 files, and each file can be up to 200 MB. Large files and long batches depend on the memory of your device, and phones handle less than computers.
