What each tool does
- Image to PDF places each image on its own page, in the order you choose, and produces one PDF file.
- PDF to image draws every page of a PDF as a JPG or PNG picture.
- Image to text uses OCR, optical character recognition, to read text from a picture so you can copy it.
- Merge PDF joins several files into one, in the order you choose.
- Split PDF saves every page as its own file or extracts the pages you pick.
- Rotate PDF turns every page the right way up.
- Compress PDF re-saves the pages as compressed pictures to make scanned files smaller.
- PDF to text copies the text out of a PDF that contains real text.
A PDF made from pictures contains pictures, not text. If you need the words, run the original image through the image to text tool.
