Why turn HEIC photos into a PDF
Forms, offices and email systems often want one PDF instead of a pile of photos, and many of them cannot open HEIC at all. Putting the photos into a PDF solves both problems in one step.
Typical situations
- Sending photographed documents or receipts as one PDF
- Submitting a form that accepts only PDF with photos taken on an iPhone
- Making a printable album page from camera photos
What to watch for
Each photo becomes one page, in the order shown in the list. The photos are compressed as JPG inside the PDF, so choose the larger file size option when quality matters, or the smaller one when there is a size limit. Location tags and other extra data are not copied into the PDF. You can mix HEIC with JPG, PNG and other pictures.
Tips for better results
- Choose Smaller file for email limits and Best quality for printing.
- Page size Same as the image keeps each photo whole, while A4 or Letter places it on a standard page.
- Photographed documents look best when the page fills the frame and the lighting is even.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put many HEIC photos into one PDF?
Yes. Add them all, use Up and Down to arrange the pages and press Create PDF. Each photo becomes one page.
How do I convert HEIC to PDF on an iPhone?
Open this page in Safari, add the photos from your library, arrange them and press Create PDF. The photos are processed on the phone and not uploaded.
Does HEIC to PDF reduce the picture quality?
The photos are re-saved as JPG inside the PDF. With Best quality the difference is hard to see, and Smaller file trades some detail for a lighter PDF.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser using your own device, so the files are not sent to Convert In Place or anyone else. See how it works for a way to check this yourself.
Is there a limit on file size or number of files?
You can use it as often as you like. One batch holds up to 200 files, and each file can be up to 200 MB. Large files and long batches depend on the memory of your device, and phones handle less than computers.
